At this time of year we look at the trends emerging for next year and for a few years to come. Here are a few of our observations:
- We have seen that teams, organizations and leaders have become much more flexible and fluid to stabilize their structure and organizations.
- Leaders are paying more attention to millennials. A purpose must be created and a value system understood with a clear sign of progress seen to attract, motivate and retain this group of workers.
- The role of teams is becoming more critical. The world is moving much quicker and becoming more sophisticated. Leaders today are in need of more support and help. This has caused the move from the traditional hub and spoke organization to working as a true team that can shift and rotate with strong leaders stepping in and emerging when necessary. Coaching a team of people is more complicated than coaching a group of individuals.
- Organizations need a better understanding of world events. Like the increase in volatility and the move to shorter product life cycles, which should not be surprising to most companies as we have been seeing this for a while, but it is increasingly important for smaller companies as well. In terms of competition, it is harder to differentiate your company and offerings from others.
Some questions to consider:
-
What changes should be made to your organization to challenge and keep millennial employees so you can continue to attract and keep new customers?
-
How should you structure your team to be more effective and be more successful in today’s economy?
-
How can your leaders, teams and organization get better at handling global, national and local issues?
