Teams typically progress through several stages, the first being formation, followed by “storming”. In the storming stage, some complaining and reviewing of the past occurs, along with a bit of conflict. The difficulty as leaders is to allow some of this, but then quickly stop the focus on uncontrollable factors and instead begin focusing on the future.
