Typically at the beginning of any new client relationship, we conduct interviews with their teams. This is always fun and gives us a strong sense of what and who the culture is for that organization. Prior to these interviews, we send a Kolbe A Index for each core team member to get a conative profile.
Why do we do this?
The individual interviews give us the affective and cognitive background of each person, while the Kolbe A Index provides conative background on each, giving us a more in-depth picture of the individuals and the organization. Getting a sense of the group will also tell us which Leadership Level and which Team Level to match up with the individuals and how to most powerfully achieve the goals that they want to achieve.
What is most interesting is how insightful each person is regarding themselves. It sets a tone for knowing where to start with the group. A few of the questions are: How do you learn best? What do you most want to learn in the next 3 years? Where will you be in 10 years? Some people easily answer the questions and have a clear view of their future, which means that they have a future! Others struggle with the answers and may be unable to answer.
Our experience with how people answer the questions is that those that have trouble answering are people more driven by chance and change, rather than guiding themselves through triumph and tribulation to their preferred future. Those that have clear answers know themselves and are attracting what they need consciously and creating a better set of results for their family, career and the business!
