In this week’s video blog our expert guide, Don Hadley, discusses that in some organizations there are those that for whatever reason do not want change or progress and actually strive to maintain the status quo. They are referred to as “Corporate Cockroaches”.

Corporate Bullying

When people, “Corporate Cockroaches”, within an organization let politics, greed, or other things get in the way of the organization’s success and growth, this can lead to the death of the organization, its culture and “emotionally” its people.

We are currently working closely with an organization to develop a plan with their leaders in order to bring positive change to the organization and increase its success and effectiveness. This can only be done when these leaders stand up and put things in motion to prevent the Corporate Cockroaches from poisoning the organization from within. This may include putting their jobs on the line in order to do what is right for the employees, the leaders and the organization.

Three things for you to consider when looking at your organization and whether or not it has an infestation of Corporate Cockroaches:

  • Does your organization or teams have those that resist change or even sabotage the success of his/her team?
  • Does your organization have leaders and employees that are willing to fight back in order to bring positive change to the organization or are they battle fatigued and ready to jump ship?
  • Does your organization and leaders have systems and processes in place to prevent Corporate Cockroaches?

Depending on your answers to the above questions, it may be a time for a cultural and organizational change in order to prevent the death and failure of the organization and its people.
