You Can’t Go It Alone
10,000 Soldiers to Make a General
Henry David Thoreau wrote: “The man who goes alone can start the day. But he who travels with another must wait until the other is ready.”
How many of us charge off down a path without our team of people? If we can do it alone, it is one thing. If not (and most of us have large enough businesses we cannot go it alone), then we may be doing something wrong. Too many of us leave our team and hence, our business, in the dust. This leads to chaos and disengagement.
This makes me think of another quote by Aristotle, “Something well started is half done.”
-
How many of us start a project or initiative poorly because we do not get others on board?
-
What about when we start trying to adjust how we operate as families without getting the family on board?
-
If you don’t want to “go it alone”, or are unable to, how can you get everyone on board and enthusiastic about the future?
