Organizations We Support
Our time spent living is precious. We have learned that in order to be the best you can be, you need to be intentional about how you use your energy and your passion. Applied Vision Works Inc. believes our mission is to provide a service to business leaders that will result in a better quality of life, stronger businesses and bigger achievements. One outcome from this mission is our company and the clients we serve give back to our community by sharing our time, talents and treasure. Together, we are part of a larger community that provides others opportunities to grow, develop and advance.
As we grow our business, we consciously look for ways to proactively increase our support of the community in ways that will provide seed monies to develop self-sustaining programs. Currently, we actively support the following organizations:
Wake Tech Foundation
The Foundation has offered programs benefiting Wake Tech employees and students since 1988, including 211 scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year. These programs include the Excellence Awards, Tuition Assistance, instructional equipment, program support, Emergency Financial Aid and scholarships. Regardless of whether it is restricted or unrestricted, your investment will assist Wake Tech in meeting its most critical institutional and instructional needs. 100% of your investment will support Wake Tech and over 57,000 students from across the county!
Meals on Wheels
Since 1974, Meals on Wheels has been providing nutritious meals to the home-bound elderly and persons with disabilities in Wake County in an effort to improve health, reduce isolation, and prevent inappropriate institutionalization. Serving close to 1,400 meals daily to homes and nutrition centers, Meals on Wheels provides the frailest of our community’s citizens with a voice to achieve healthful independence.
Methodist Home For Children Foundation
The Methodist Home for Children, headquartered in Raleigh, NC seeks to build upon the social, physical, emotional, and spiritual strengths of children, youth, and families and to affirm their worth. MHC seeks to ensure safe, nurturing homes for children while working to eradicate the social and family problems that lead to abuse, neglect, family disruption, and child abandonment. Founded in 1899 as a traditional, campus-based orphanage in Raleigh, Methodist Home for Children now provides community-based services for children and families throughout central and eastern North Carolina.
The Crossnore School
The Crossnore School is a residential education facility providing mountains of hope for children in need. Since 1913, when doctors Eustace & Mary Martin Sloop rode horses up an unpaved road to the mountaintop at Crossnore, NC, the residential home and school they founded has helped thousands of children regain their childhood and discover the life changing power of hope.
Triangle Community Foundation
Founded in 1983, Triangle Community Foundation connects philanthropic resources with community needs, creates opportunity for enlightened change and encourages philanthropy as a way of life. With $140 million in assets, Triangle Community Foundation gave more than $13 million in grants to non-profits, schools and community efforts last year, raising the total value of grants made since the Foundation’s inception to more than $120 million.
